Watercolor classes with Paul Trowbridge will be held Saturdays April 1 – 22, 2017 9 AM – NOON
Watercolor is a unique and exciting medium when you let it demonstrate its special qualities like expressive brush work, the flow of wet into wet paint, and transparent layering. It can be quick or lengthy, portable, and clean. Come explore with us the world of watercolor and see the loaded brush, the expansive blooms, the puddles of shifting color, the unexpected, the delicate, the bold, and your own expression looking back at you.
Our sessions will include discussion, critique, and mostly practice. We will work on exercises, projects, and your own ideas. We maintain a supportive atmosphere that lets you grow as an individual. The time goes by more quickly than you can imagine when you are having fun and learning more and more. All skill levels are welcome.
Classes will be held at the Deer Isle Artist Association, 15 Main Street, Deer Isle, ME. Outdoor excursions are possible weather permitting.
The four-week session is $125.00. No refunds. Guests are welcome at $40.00 per class. Part of the proceeds will go to the DIAA to help defer expenses.
We will supply tables and chairs. Participants bring their own art materials. Please remember to bring a large pallet for mixing your colors—see suggested materials list below.
