Sylvia Murdock’s current works are on view at her coastal Port Clyde Gallery.
Hours are Tues. & Thurs. 1-4, through Sept. 26th, or by appointment, 207-372-8029.
Sylvia was introduced to coastal Maine over 30 years ago when she planned an artist trip out to Monhegan Island. She lived & worked out there for 20 years, built a home on Monhegan, had her work published on a novel cover, for Down East Books, became Signature Member in both the New England & Pennsylvania WC Societies. Associate member of the American WC Society. Sylvia has been painting for over 40 years primarily in watercolor but has also been known to paint with egg tempera.
Sylvia has exhibited in galleries and museums from Searsport to Philadelphia. Yes, she has work scattered around the globe, but it’s the simplicity and clarity of coastal Maine that has left a lasting impression on Sylvia and her work.
Sylvia paints landscapes/skyscapes that surround her and odd things from a garden or a dual nest she found in a barn. It is her hope that you enjoy looking at them as much as she does painting.
