Sculptor and mixed-media artist Marnie Sinclair, of Damariscotta, has her work in multiple locations this summer. Her work often depicts the balance and imbalance in nature, and her wire sculptures, paintings and mixed-media pieces are powerful and compelling.
Sinclair has several pieces in windows on Main Street, as part of the Bristol Road Galleries show. She also has a wire sculpture of a buffalo on display at the River Arts opening exhibition, in their new location on Elm Street. That show runs until Aug. 15.
In addition, Sinclair has an installation at the 2020 Studio Without Walls outdoor show in the Riverway Park, Brookline, Massachusetts. Her enormous 3D “Stella the Octopus” hangs from a tree, with her long arms reaching out to collect trash from the banks of the Muddy River. This sculpture highlights the crisis of plastic pollution in the Earth’s oceans. The show runs through Sept. 7.
