The Pemaquid Group of Artists will host the outdoor Tent Sales event at Lighthouse Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8, weather permitting.
In lieu of the Pemaquid Art Gallery closed for the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the artist group is offering the tent sale and plein-air art demonstrations.
Multiple works, many with affordable prices from over 20 artists, will be on display for viewing and purchase in two large tents. The canopy exhibit, which will include pottery, will be held on the lawn in front of the Pemaquid Art Gallery building, which will remain closed.
Member artists will be painting onsite during the event and will be happy to answer questions. Drop in and enjoy the exhibit and painting and the refreshing sea breezes of Lighthouse Park.
Also planned is a 3 p.m. drawing for a painting by Damariscotta artist Julie Babb, who has donated “Winter Finches,” a gouache work depicting two finches in their winter plumage perched on a delicate branch. The winner will be one of the gallery’s 2020 Gallery Patrons, who each year offer the Pemaquid Group of Artists encouragement and financial support.
Participating members of the Pemaquid Group of Artists include Debra Arter, Bruce Babb, Julie Babb, William Curtis, Dianne Smith Dolan, Peggy Farrell, Sarah Fisher, Claire Hancock, Kay Sawyer Hannah, Hannah Ineson, Will Kefauver, Jan Kilburn, Barbara Klein, Sally Loughridge, Judy Nixon, Cindy Spencer, Liliana Thelander, Kim Traina, Barbara Vanderbilt and Bob Vaughan.
