Every Tree Tells A Story at CMCA ArtLab  

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art’s (CMCA) ArtLab is collaborating with environmental artist Pamela Moulton to create elements for her upcoming public art project, Every Tree Tells A Story, which will be presented at a TBA venue in Portland, Maine later this year. Join us to create artwork that will be added to Moulton’s installation, including painting buoys, weaving materials into netting, and unraveling floating rope and fishing net to create long flowing tresses. Try on Neptune’s unraveled rope cape or crown and stuff pink bait bags with colorful found treasures. Surprises await you!

Moulton builds large-scale art installations that spark conversations about environmental problems our planet faces as reflected in her recent collaboration with Arcadia Earth in Las Vegas (image above). Her present work uses abandoned fishing gear to create whimsical interactive sculptures that are both weirdly fun but also reflect nature’s perilous beauty. Moulton’s playful, immersive sculptures are created through community hands so we hope you will take part!
