Sidle House, a new gallery located in Freeport, is excited to announce its first exhibition, “PopUp No. 1,” from July 14 to 30.
The exhibition will feature a wide range of contemporary pieces by eight Vermont, Chicago and Maine-based artists including sound, video, photography, sculptural, fabric, acrylic, oil and mixed media. More than 50 works will be on view in the historic barn on Bartol Island Road, owned by gallerist Maddy Vertenten and her husband.
Featured artists include Jeremy Ames, Alex Bruehl, Erin Bundock, Aidan Fraser, Olena Hadlet, Justine Lasdin, Mandana MacPherson and Kelly Sue Rioux.
An artist’s opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. July 14. Gallery hours during the exhibition’s run are 2 to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays or by appointment. More information can be found on the gallery Instagram @sidlehousemaine.
