The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) will hold its much-anticipated summer auction and party, Art By The Sea, from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19. The museum will celebrate its 70th anniversary with live music, dancing, light fare and cocktails.
“This will be the birthday celebration of the season,” said Amanda Lahikainen, executive director of Ogunquit Museum of American Art. “There is so much to celebrate as we reflect on 70 years of growth and fantastic modern and contemporary art.”
Guests can dance under the outdoor tent while enjoying indoor and outdoor bar areas. The anniversary party also includes a live and silent auction with items for every budget. The auction items include works by artists including Joe Wardwell, a surfing lesson by museum curator Devon Zimmerman and a two-night package from the Cliff House. A preview of the items up for auction this year can be found online.
Tickets are $200 per person and available online. All proceeds benefit the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.
