Jadyn LaDeau will usher in 2024 as January’s Artist in Residence at the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery. A native of Deer Isle, Jadyn is a talented artist who utilizes a variety of mediums and materials in her work. She will be at the DIAA Gallery at 15 Main Street in Deer Isle Village most weekdays from 11:00 – 4:00, and the public is welcome to drop in to watch her as she creates beautiful pieces of art. Jadyn will host a reception on January 26th from 4:30 – 6:30.
Additionally, Jadyn invites the public to take part in a FREE needle felting workshop at the Gallery on January 27th from 10:00 – 1:00. Utilizing colorful wool roving and special barbed needles, participants will learn the basics of needle felting while creating a creature of their choice. Using a repetitive technique and basic sculpting process, participants will learn to shape wool into a specific appearance. Participants can come to the workshop with an animal in mind or choose from a variety of selected tutorials to get started. All materials will be provided and no previous registration is required. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch to the Gallery.
