The board of directors of the UMVA (Union of Maine Visual Artists) announces that Emily Sabino, an abstract representational painter in Newcastle and director of pricing and project management for Goodwin Procter, LLP, is the newest addition to the board.
As an artist, Sabino aims to capture a slice of the earth magic and expanded perspective that is available to all when listening to the natural world. In a recent exhibit at Waterfall Arts in Belfast, she investigated inner images and messaging that remind us we are never truly alone in our lives. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the state of Maine.
Sabino graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville. That education, her 20 years of experience in the legal field and current position advising partners on how to make compelling pitches and proposals have already served her well as an active leader of several UMVA initiatives. They include exhibits at the Waldo and Lincoln Theatres, Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Waterfall Arts and Zoots Café in Camden, as well as co-writing a Pecha Kucha presentation in Rockland and appearing in a TV public service announcement for UMVA that is running on the community cable channel in Portland.
