Gallery 302 will welcome Heather L.R. Fountain as the featured artist from July 22 through Aug. 23. A reception and artist talk will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. July 26 at the gallery.
As a kiln-formed glass artist, Fountain makes glass-cast pieces or sheets of patterned glass to create the unique elements used in her work. Since childhood, she says she was fascinated with how light illuminates, catches and even plays with reflective surfaces. Whether layering sheet glass, powders, stringers-strings of glass, or frit-crushed glass, she utilizes diverse kiln-formed techniques to achieve textural works that capture nature’s beauty in glass.
Fountain earned degrees from Purdue, Harvard and The University of Maine and studied at Bullseye Glass New York, The Worcester Center for Craft and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Her work has been included in state, regional and national shows, and she is a member of the Glass Art Society, Society of Arts + Crafts, Maine Craft Association and The Saco Bay Artists. Heather’s work can be found at the Maine Art Hill Gallery in Kennebunk, Maine, the Threadneedle gallery in Newburyport, Massachusetts, Archipelago in Rockland, Maine, Sparkle Arts in Belgrade, as well as many shows throughout the summer and fall.
Gallery 302 is at 112 Main St., Bridgton.
