Robin Rier and David Shepard will show artworks at the Wine Cellar Art Gallery, downstairs at John Edwards Market, throughout October and November at 158 Main St., Ellsworth.
Robin Rier lives in Jonesport, where she has Sweet Pear Studio. Rier works primarily with oils plein air. Her paintings celebrate Maine’s working waterfront, gorgeous rural landscape and inspiring still-life moments.
Her works have recently hung in the Governor’s Lobby at Maine’s State House and have been published with fellow artist Valerie Aponik’s work in the book “Disappearing: The Working Waterfront of Downeast Maine.”
David Shepard is a retired stonemason and continuing sailor, painter and maple sugarmaker working from his woodland studio in Ellsworth. Shepard’s oil paintings bring into stunning focus Maine’s wild and cultivated flora and the many wildly dramatic faces of the sea.
