Many Arts In Rockland members will be open, including: Archipelago, the Farnsworth Art Museum, The Strand Theatre, Caldbeck Gallery, The Art Loft, Michael Good Gallery, Craft Gallery, Yvette Torres Fine Art, Asymmetrick Arts, CMCA, The Gray Fox Gallery, Jonathan Frost Gallery, the Gautschi Center, Maine Coastal Islands Gallery & Black Hole.
Archipelago’s summer exhibition will be open showing works by artists Jean Kigel, Caroline Loder, Dylan Metrano, Lacey Goodrich, Wayne Hall, Michele O’Keefe, Stephanie Crossman, Jeff Barrett, Carolyn Kemp, Lin Lisberger, Christina Vincent, Geoffrey Warner, and others who share their love of Maine through many mediums including wood, paper, pottery, and furniture.
The Farnsworth Art Museum will be open to the public, free of charge.
The Strand Theatre will have a “First Friday Film” at 8pm that night, co-presented by the Farnsworth Art Museum: Francofonia.
Caldbeck Gallery will hold a reception for solo shows for Lois Dodd, Alan Bray, Todd Watts, and Kayla Mohammadi.
Jonathan Frost Gallery will be showing “The Primacy of Drawings II”, opening at 5:30pm.
At the Art Loft, Chuck Paine will demonstrate oil painting from 5-8pm. Chuck teaches a walk-in class at the Art Loft on Tuesday evenings. His work consists of coastal imagery, sailing, and Maine life. “If it’s old and crumbling and reminiscent of a way of life that is slipping away, I will try to capture it before it is gone.”
Michael Good Gallery will be holding their 17th Annual Summer Celebration event, presenting abstract paintings by Fred Good. Drinks and light refreshments will be served on our back deck with live music by cellist Kristin Techer.
Craft Gallery will open “Art in Black and White”: Drawing, weaving, stitching, shaping clay and blowing glass tell the story in black and white.
Yvette Torres Fine Art will be showing “Robert Lahotan in Maine, The Late Paintings”.
CMCA continues to show it’s current Jonathan Borofsky, Alex Katz and Rollin Leonard exhibitions.
Maine Coastal Islands Gallery will be showing the work of three new artists: Michael Boardman of North Yarmouth, Leon Vanella of Newcastle and Janet Glatz of Durham.
