Crescendo is about reaching new heights, riding the waves of life, climbing peaks, looking up to the zenith, witnessing the culmination of a project, peering over the crest, feeling the surge of emotions.
2025 is a 9 year in numerology, marked by a crescendo of power and experience, acclimation and completion, and new beginnings.
Artists took what “crescendo” means to them and turned it into 10×10-inch pieces for ArtVan’s ArtExhibit. A signature fundraiser, the ArtExhibit brings professional, community and youth artists together to submit work inspired by the theme “Crescendo” and display it in a month-long gallery. Marked by an opening reception, all work is for sale and with a 50/50 gallery split to artists and ArtVan.
ArtExhibit is a true community event, and last year’s event brought over 150 people to the opening reception. This year’s ArtExhibit is capped at 60 artists.
The gallery and opening reception are hosted at Dutchman’s in Brunswick, with the reception taking place on May 5. This event is open to the public, and a cash bar and light appetizers will be available.
Funds raised go directly to supporting ArtVan programming. A nonprofit that has been bringing art therapy to under-resourced neighborhoods for 21 years, ArtVan works to promote creative exploration and transformational healing in neighborhoods throughout Western and Midcoast Maine. It currently serves 15 communities from Rumford to Lewiston to Bath to Freeport. To learn more about ArtVan and the ArtExhibit, visit artvanprogram.org.
