Waterfall Arts invites artists of all levels from novice to expert to submit artwork for the 2017 annual Open Call Show on view from April 7 to May 12.  This theme for 2017 is “Home.” Individuals are asked to reflect on what home means to them – Is home a physical space, warm and cozy or is it a place of conflict and tension, or something in between? Is home a psychological place, an invention of an ideal space or mental state or is it a remembered landscape or habitat?

Work in any media can be abstract, realistic, conceptual or anything in between. It can depict a dream, an idea, a memory, or a daily reality.  Individuals may submit one piece, with dimensions no larger than 36 inches by 36 inches. Three-dimensional pieces can be accommodated. Two-dimensional works must be properly framed with a securely attached hanging device or the work cannot be displayed. All artwork should be delivered to Waterfall Arts March 28 through 31 during office hours (10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Friday). Everyone is invited to the opening reception for “Home” on Friday, April 7 from 5 to 8 pm.

Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in Belfast and is supported by All Creatures Acupuncture, Cold Mountain Builders, Waldo County Family Dentistry, Revision Energy and the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
