D’Alessio Gallery officially opens for the summer season on Memorial Day Weekend, May 28 to may 31, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hours continue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 1, Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Alternate hours and private showings are available by appointment.
Although Bar Harbor will not be hosting First Friday Art Walks this coming season, D’Alessio Gallery will be open First Friday evenings of each month until 9 p.m. beginning July 2 with a show of new works titled “A Walk in the Park,” a continuation of “D’Alessio Klimted,” featuring self-expression of colors, concepts and textures using a collection of Klimt’s photographs, painting, drawings and thoughts.
See the newest works, and meet and chat with the artist Russell D’Alessio during a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. July 2. Music will be provided by Leavin’ Tulsa, Jayme Lou Durham and Jim Vekasi, and refreshments will be served. The show runs through July 31.
D’Alessio has also been working on another series of paintings called “A Bevy of Bunnies.”
“Rabbits, they are embedded in my DNA,” he says.
His father taught him to draw rabbits at a young age. “Having never had a pet rabbit I believe my dad illustrating these bunnies is why they show up in my works. My latest colony of bunny paintings resounds the curiosity, joy, surprise, or contentment echoed in our own lives and those of our friends and family.”
D’Alessio is also accepting a few additional commissions for 2021.
D’Alessio Gallery is at 12 Mount Desert St., Bar Harbor. Go to www.rdalessioart.com, call 207-351-5450, or email info@rdalessioart.com for more information.
