For years, artists have been celebrating the charm of Eastport through Paint Eastport Day. This year, they are expanding the experience to two weeks. One week is for creating, and the following week is for sharing.
Works will be available for auction three ways: a silent auction booth of randomly selected works at the Salmon Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 5, a display of local works at Eastport Gallery from Sept. 5 to 12 (these works will also be included in the online Facebook auction) and an online auction on Facebook from Sept 5 to 12. The auction closes at 5 p.m. Sept. 12.
Artists are encouraged to use whatever mediums inspire them.
This year’s Paint Eastport is dedicated to David Orrell. In the spirit of Orrell, the inspiration behind the traditional Paint Eastport Day, artists are encouraged to get outside and work plein air around town on Sept. 4. Perhaps get a group together and make a day of it.
