Shahed Saleem is the newest artist at The Parsonage. Shahed is the founder and director of Makespace architectural practice in London, especially noted for its innovative designs for faith communities. In recent years, his architectural, scholarly, and curatorial work has inspired a growing body of visual art, from painting and printmaking to public installations.
The Parsonage also welcomes Thomas Marks of London to join its advisory board. Marks is a founding partner of the creative consultancy Marks|Calil, who previously served as editor of the international art magazine Apollo. He is one of the UK’s foremost art critics and commentators.
The Parsonage exhibits dynamic work by a diverse slate of contemporary artists, with a special emphasis on issues of ecology and spirituality. It is a program of the not-for-profit Common Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3). Donations to The Parsonage are tax deductible in the U.S. and we value support as we grow our capacity for residencies and other programs. The Parsonage is placing a special emphasis this year on artists exploring the effects of climate change.
