Sidle House opened for a second summer on June 1. The new exhibition, “PopUp No. 2,” features work by nine contemporary artists, including Joe Sasso, Kyle Ross, Corinne Phelan-Wolfe, Kincaid Pearson, Ashley Page, Emma McHold-Burke, Keri Kimura, Tara Dixon and David Allen. Sculptural, photographic, sound, mixed media and painted works will be displayed within the barn and on the grounds of the property owned by gallerist Maddy Vertenten and her husband.
An opening reception was held on June 1.
Gallery hours during June are 3 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays or by appointment.
Tickets are still available for the Summer Solstice dinner on June 20 where guests will meet the artists, and enjoy a seasonal three-course meal by chef Josh Berry. More information and directions can be found at sidlehouse.com or on Instagram @sidlehousemaine.
Sidle House exhibitions are shown in and around a century-old barn located one mile from downtown Freeport at 20 Bartol Island Road. Look for the pink sign under mailbox #20. Ride-sharing and barn/field-friendly footwear is always recommended.
