New Era Gallery in Vinalhaven presents its “Early Summer Show” from June 22 through July 9. The show features the oil and mixed-media paintings of Elaine Austin Crossman and the pottery of Sylvia Lacey.
Crossman, whose work is included in the recently published “Art of Penobscot Bay” by Carl Little and David Little, has painted the sea and landscapes of Vinalhaven for over 40 years. Her work focuses on the changing seasons and weather of Vinalhaven, especially at the edges of sky and land.
Lacey’s refined carved and stamped stoneware and porcelain vases, bowls, mugs and plates are made in her studio on Vinalhaven and reflect the beauty of the natural world.
New Era Gallery is at 60 Main St., Vinalhaven. Summer gallery hours, beginning June 24, are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and by appointment on Sundays. For more information, call 863-9351 or visit neweragallery.com.
