Triangle Gallery will open two solo shows and one group show during ArtWalk on June 6.
In the back gallery at Triangle Gallery, Susan Groce will be hanging a selection of large drawings. These impressive works span a number of years till present, displaying both the continuity and shift of her visual language. Groce work(s) “to create fragile environments that are ephemeral and elusive, as though glimpsed on the very edge of visibility.” This exhibition will be on view until July 20.

“Jamie Johnston / The Sum of the Parts” will be on view upstairs from May 29 to July 6. These constructions of wood and paint move visually yet are stationary on the wall. According to Johnston, “Sculptural form can activate a space. What you see changes as you walk around, or by it. My work is primarily wall hung constructions that encourage discovery and surprise through movement. I think in a world of pattern, geometry and visual relationship. I make wooden parts and freeze them in space when I like what I see. I use color, shadow, relationship and repetition to find a visual language that speaks what words cannot say.”
The main gallery downstairs will reflect a season-long, ever-changing, exhibition of work by gallery artists. June’s show is After the Grey and includes work by Karen Jelenfy, Cynthia Selinger, Mark Little, Linda Packard, Jennifer Berk, Marc Leavitt, George Pearlman, Carbery Morrow, Talya Baharal, Ray Mathis, Doreen Nardone and Keith Schneider. This will be up through June 29.
Triangle Gallery is at 8 Elm St., Rockland. Spring and summer hours are noon to 5 p.m.Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday or by chance or appointment. For more information, call 593-8300 or go trianglegallery8elm.com or Instagram @trianglegallery8elm.
