Barn Gallery, home of the Ogunquit Art Association, opens its 2026 season May 20 and runs through Oct. 12. The season features four rotating exhibition cycles, a new artist-member jury, the 72nd Annual OAA Art Auction and a full program of artist demonstrations and workshops.

The Ogunquit Art Association, established in 1928, is Maine’s original artists’ group, with direct lineage to the historic Ogunquit Art Colony.

“The 2026 season at Barn Gallery reflects everything the Ogunquit Art Association has stood for since 1928 — evocative work, vibrant educational programming, and a passionate community that keeps showing up,” said Deidre O’Flaherty, president of the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative. “Whatever brings you through the door — a painting that stops you, a workshop that surprises you, or simply a summer afternoon in Ogunquit — you’ll leave having been part of something that has mattered here for a very long time.”

EXHIBITIONS

Four exhibition cycles run throughout the season, each featuring OAA member shows and invited New England sculptors, with solo showcases rotating in each cycle.

The opening exhibitions, May 20 to June 20, will feature solo showcases by Nancy R. Davison (printmaking) and Madeleine Hopkins (painting). An opening reception was held May 23.

The Open Regional Juried Show runs June 24 to July 25, with a reception June 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. One of the gallery’s most closely watched annual exhibitions, it draws emerging and established artists from across New England. This year’s juror is Pamela “Posey” Moulton, a Maine-based environmental artist known for large-scale installations built from salvaged materials, exhibited widely across the US and internationally. The prospectus is available at barngallery.org.

The late summer exhibitions, Aug. 5 to Sept. 5, will feature solo showcases by Amy Hagberg (photography) and Carol MacLeod (photography and painting), with a reception Aug. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The fall exhibitions, Sept. 9 to Oct. 12, will feature solo showcases by Charles Laurier Dufour (photography) and Annie Lemieux (photography), with a reception Sept. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m.

AUCTION

The 72nd Annual OAA Art Auction preview runs July 29 to Aug. 1, with the live auction the evening of Aug. 1 — doors at 6 p.m., bidding at 7 p.m. The largest art auction in Ogunquit and a fixture of the region’s summer arts calendar, the event draws collectors and enthusiasts from across the Eastern Seaboard, with proceeds supporting OAA exhibitions, educational programming and the gallery’s continued operation.
