Art Space Gallery in Rockland features work by Molly Mugler, Heather Newton Brown and Joan Wright in its Front Room throughout August.
The gallery will welcome visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 7 during Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk. Refreshments will be served.

Mugler’s “Davis Point Aerial” is part of a watercolor series exploring the boundaries between land and water from a bird’s-eye perspective. Using images captured with a drone, Mugler depicts Midcoast Maine’s intricate coastal edges, shaped by erosion, tides, currents and weather.

“Portraying them from a bird’s-eye view is delightfully challenging and rewarding,” Mugler wrote.
Brown’s encaustic series “Inherent Synaesthesia” reflects a turn toward quieter, more meditative work. Its repetitive, intuitive process offered space for observation and reassurance during difficult times. The series title draws from David Abram’s book “The Spell of the Sensuous” and the phenomenon of synesthesia, in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway produces an involuntary experience in another.
Wright’s photography is represented by “Fish Weir #10.”
Brown also has an encaustic work, “Distracted by the Folds in Your Shirt,” in the Union of Maine Visual Artists exhibition “Dreaming at Dawn” at Bangor Public Library.
