JOY
Lynne Seitzer, “Pink Inspiration.”

Joy To The Wind Gallery in Boothbay Harbor will feature “Pink Inspiration” and several other new paintings by Lynne Seitzer throughout August, along with new work by John M.T. Seitzer.

An open house and artists’ reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 7 in conjunction with the First Friday Art Tour.

In “Pink Inspiration,” a lone house sits beneath a deep orange sky, surrounded by trees, marshland, meadow and bright pink fireweed.

“Foreground marsh and meadow lead our eyes to the beautiful blaze of pink fire weed,” Seitzer wrote.

Seitzer paints scenes drawn from life, memory and imagination. She has worked in watercolor and pastel and now paints primarily in oil. Her professional background includes 12 years as a fashion illustrator and advertising designer, followed by a decade designing and illustrating greeting cards.

Seitzer and her husband, artist John M.T. Seitzer, opened Joy To The Wind Gallery, Studio and Custom Picture Framing Service 27 years ago. She has taught art at the studio, served 14 years on the Boothbay Region Art Foundation board, helped develop the area’s First Friday Art Tours and worked as managing coordinator for Studio 53 Fine Art.

Joy To The Wind Gallery is at 34 Atlantic Ave., Boothbay Harbor. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 207-633-7025 or go to joytothewind.com for more information.
