Littlefield Gallery will open on May 27, featuring four artists who are new to the gallery.
A reception with the artists will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. June 11.
Veteran artists Lesia Sochor and Mary Prince create unique collage work and paintings. Sochor creates oils on vintage sewing pattern paper that have evolved over the past dozen years united by the common theme of sewing, women and fashion. Prince captures the atmospheric changes that animate nature, whether the rugged coastline and pristine islands of the northeastern coast of Maine or the exuberant fabrics and glassy objects of the still life.
Jeff MacDonald’s abstractions evolved not only from his background in the world of music but from his fascination and exploration of shapes and colors and all the the possibilities they present.
Sarah Lightfoot Brundage, inspired by the coastal tide that supports life in the small Downeast fishing village in which she lives, is drawn to the place where land meets sea and natural stone forms. Color and lines inspired by Maine’s rocky coastline are integral elements in her paintings.
