Gallery b. in Castine opened its 17th season with “Spellbound,” an exhibition on view through June 28, with an opening reception held May 23. The show explores the sublime, supernatural and spiritual through works that invite deep, unhurried looking — a state the gallery describes as outside of time.
Featured artists include Sara MacCulloch (Toronto), Kate Emlen (Vermont), Ellie Barnet (Portland), Kelly Carmody (Waltham, Massachusetts), Viktor Butko (Moscow), Louise Bourne (Sedgwick), Goody-B Wiseman (Penobscot), Amy Bernhardt (Deer Isle) and Nancy Friedland (Toronto), with new work rotating into the show weekly.
The summer season continues with “Swim,” opening July 1; “Outside Inside,” opening July 21; and “Figure & Ground,” opening Aug. 8.
