Women Eco Artists Dialog (WEAD), based in Berkeley, California, is accepting submissions for its 2027 members exhibition, “Prototyping Futures of Making: Water, Data, and Living Systems.”

The exhibition will explore the relationships among water, data, ecological systems and emerging technologies, asking how artists can engage with living systems as sites of collaboration, construction and consequence.

At a time when artificial intelligence and data infrastructure increasingly depend on water, land and other natural resources, the exhibition will consider what it means to create within environments that are already alive and interconnected.

Drawing on developments in material ecology and interdisciplinary design, the exhibition will highlight artistic practices that move beyond fabrication toward growth, co-production and interspecies collaboration.

Lisa B. Woods and Leah Dalton will serve as jurors, prioritizing work that addresses the exhibition’s themes and proposes new ways of understanding or responding to environmental and technological challenges.

Artists working in all media, including sound and video, are eligible to submit. Women-identified, nonbinary and trans-identified artists are welcome to become WEAD members and apply. Membership scholarships are available.

The exhibition will be presented online and at The 109 Gallery in Chickamauga, Georgia, from May 1 to Aug. 31, 2027. It will include a printed catalog, artist presentations, panel discussions and awards.

Founded in 1996, Women Eco Artists Dialog is an international organization dedicated to advancing ecological and social justice art.

The submission deadline is Jan. 31, 2027. For more information or to apply, visit weadartists.org/exhibitions.
