The second weekend of August, Jean Kigel celebrates 25 years of exhibiting art in Maine. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 8-10, the public is invited to”Eastern Views,” a collection of paintings that flow with the spirit of East Asia and the beauty of Maine.

Come smell the salt air in her paintings of Monhegan. Experience the quietude of Japanese mountains. Kigel’s show includes a retrospective of her Maine Lobster Festival poster paintings.

In addition, you can view her traveling show “Displacement” which tackles the suffering, terror and hope of the world’s immigrants.

“Eastern Views” takes place in conjunction with SoWA, a tour of 12 south-of-Waldoboro artists’ studios. A map available at www.sowamaine.org. Light refreshments will be available.
