The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is pleased to announce that it will offer free CMCA memberships to Rockland residents beginning May 29.
The Rockland Free Membership is made possible by the generous support of First National Bank, which has pledged to support the program for two years. First National Bank is an independent community bank with 17 offices in Knox, Lincoln, Waldo, Hancock, Washington and Penobscot Counties.
First National Bank has a strong history of community-based engagement and support.
“This free membership program was created … to increase access to CMCA exhibitions and educational programming for our Rockland neighbors,” says Tim Peterson, CMCA executive director and chief curator.
Rockland residents over the age of 18 can sign up for a CMCA membership with proof of a Rockland mailing address. The Rockland Free Membership program includes three available membership levels — artist, individual or household — offering benefits for individuals and families, including unlimited free admission to exhibitions, free admission to artist talks and gallery events, subscription to CMCA’s e-newsletter, discounts on ArtLab camps and workshops, discounts on event tickets, and a 10 percent discount in the CMCA Gift Shop. Interested Rockland residents can sign up for their membership in-person at CMCA’s front desk. To learn more about different membership levels and benefits, visit cmcanow.org/membership.
CMCA is located at 21 Winter St., Rockland. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to https://cmcanow.org.
