Jean Kigel Studio and Gallery, at 1396 Back Cove Road in Waldoboro, will present “Full Bloom,” a series of new floral paintings.

Jean Kigel loves painting at the Maine Coast Botanical Gardens, as well as at her own perennial gardens. Her studies in Japan and China are evident in her brush paintings and watercolors.

“I am drawn to the whiteness of negative space, the delicacy of balance, and the simplicity of a stroke,” she says “I love the lighthearted play of the brush on paper.”

Flowers give us a sense of hope and happiness after the cold winter and during the lingering presence of COVID-19. They represent birth and rebirth.

The gallery is open daily. Call ahead is recommended at 207-975-3262.
