Boothbay Region Art Foundation

Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s current exhibit illustrates life in Maine from as many angles as there are artists. This members show, representing 100 regional artists, marks a milestone for the foundation, which is celebrating its 57th year of continuous operation as a nonprofit with a mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from and participate in the visual arts.

BRAF Gallery is located in downtown Boothbay Harbor at 1 Townsend Ave. The current show includes two floors of original, framed artwork and several bins of unframed pieces in the downstairs level. This eclectic collection contains a wide range of mediums, such as acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels, photography, monotypes, wooden assemblages, sculpture and ceramics.

An added attraction sprang from the fall/winter show “Art in the Square,” a grouping of 10 12- by 12-inch canvases called The Summer-Special-on-a-Swinging Door-Sale. All pieces are original works, priced at $150, and were donated by member artists.

Starting June 1, BRAF Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
