Lori Davis, “Teddy.”

Some might argue that October is the best month to be in Maine. Temperatures are cooling, and the autumnal display of fall colors is spectacular. We must agree.

Art Space Gallery will be featuring the art of Lori Davis and Hannah Nelsbach in the front room during October.

Photographer Lori Davis is looking forward to sharing her new Alaska images from her trip this summer. Stunning photographic prints on metal will be on display. Brown bears and cubs and adorable sea otters are just a few of the wildlife images she’ll share. Add in some breathtaking mountain scenery and you’ll be so glad you stopped by to experience the beauty of Alaska without having to travel there.

Hannah Nelsbach, “Reflection of Time Past,” detail.

Hannah Nelsbach thinks Maine is one of the most beautiful states in our country.  The reflections along the coast remind her often of the past and she wonders how Maine’s Native Americans must have felt about these scenes.

“As I paddle the area around Long Cove, I feel I am experiencing the same beauty they must have seen, and I must paint these memories while they are still in my head,” she says.

As usual, the balance of the gallery will display works by all members. The Art Space Gallery is a co-op gallery that offers the work of 16 Maine artists working in a variety of mediums and styles.

Visit during the year’s final First Friday Art Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7, an art party of the finest kind.

Art Space Gallery is located at 405 Main St., Rockland. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to  2 p.m. Sunday. See artspacemaine.com for details.
