The completed mural.

Built in the 1850s as a Baptist church during Rockport’s industrial heyday, Pascal Hall has been many things to many people throughout the past 170-plus years.

In 2022, it re-opened its doors to celebrate and facilitate arts and culture in Mid-Coast Maine with a successful summer author series and an upcoming Dec. 3 and 4 art exhibition (formally at High Mountain Hall) that have set the hall’s future in motion.

Designer Leslie Curtis has brought the interior to life with her expertise in color, textiles and furnishing.

Peter Walls created a history-inspired mural within the hall itself, which kept him busy for most of 2022.

The mural unveiling and an open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 10 at Pascal Hall, 86 Pascal Ave. in Rockport. Attendees can see the mural, hear about the making of it, and learn more about the town’s past and the future of Pascal Hall. Refreshments and light bites will be served.
