“Pat’s Place Vinalhaven” by Christopher French.

Landing Gallery announces the opening of “Currents,” which runs June 30 to July 30, featuring new works by gallery artists J.M. Wilde, Russell Slocum, Carol Sloan, Michael Weymouth, Christopher French, Roberta Baumann and Bruce Busko.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. July 7 during Rockland’s first Friday Art Walk.

Art is very personal and subjective. The gallery artists tend to like art that speaks to each of them in different ways. Each artist realizes their vision through their choice of subject matter, color, composition and brushwork. These variables help an artist focus their unique vision. This exhibit shows how artists using similar subjects and materials create unique, individual interpretations of our Maine environment.

Landing Gallery is at 409 Main St. in Rockland. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The gallery is closed Monday through Wednesday. For more information, call 207-239-1223, or email [email protected].
