Alison Hildreth, “Flight #9.”

New Era Gallery presents an exhibition of prints and drawings by Alison Hildreth, one of three shows initiated by Speedwell Gallery in Portland honoring one of Maine’s most well known and revered artists.

Printmaking and drawing have been a part of Hildreth’s art practice from the beginning. Over the years, images inspired by the study of swarm theory, ant tunnels, ancient fortified cities, celestial travel, and migration have all found their way into Hildreth’s work.

The exhibition opened Aug. 12 with an artist talk and reception. The show runs through Oct. 9.

New Era Gallery is at 60 Main St., Vinalhaven. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday by appointment. Call 207-863-9351 or visit neweragallery.com for more information.
