And, if Art Walks, museums and fine art galleries aren’t enough excitement for you, Rockland is celebrating the works of Edward Hopper this fall. In 1926, he and his wife Josephine, stayed for seven weeks at Mrs. Achorn’s Boarding Home on Lindsey Street. Hopper would catch the local trolley and search out a subject in town. Thanks to Ann Morris of the Rockland Historical Society, there is now a map of these places complete with the watercolor that Hopper created and where to find it. So, pick a map up at one of Rockland’s numerous galleries, the Rockland Library or the Farnsworth Museum. They are free to the public. And walk in Edward Hopper’s shoes seeing these locations as he saw them.

Art Space Gallery, a fine art cooperative owned and operated by Maine artists, is located at 405 Main St., Rockland. See artspacemaine.com for details.
