Camden Falls Gallery will open its exhibition “Camden – A Boater’s Paradise” on Sept. 1.
As with many others, Camden Falls Gallery owner Howard Gallagher has had a prolonged romance with Camden. Camden Falls Gallery is pleased to wrap up the summer season with a show highlighting the nautical and marine influence Camden has had on artists, mariners and visitors alike throughout the years. Penobscot Bay is considered by many boaters and sailors to be one of the top five cruising areas in the world, and without a doubt, Camden is the crowning jewel of the Bay.
The show will present a collection of works by our house artists who have worked closely with the gallery to produce a very unique body of work. With scenes from the water, the mainland and along the waterfront, these paintings are executed in such a way that the viewer cannot help but be drawn into them.
Artists featured in the show include Ann Larsen, Aline Ordman, Olena Babak, Beth Bathe, Jonathan McPhillips, Jay Brooks and Kirk McBride. Their collective works capture scenes from the quiet pool at the bottom of the water falls at the head of Camden’s inner harbor, to the outlying edges of Schoodic Point to the north, and south to Monhegan, Port Clyde and beyond.
Camden Falls Gallery is at 5 Public Landing in Camden. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call 207-470-7027, email info@camdenfallsgallery.com, or go to www.camdenfallsgallery.com for more information.
