Lynn Duryea, “Slant #17.”

The September show at Turtle Gallery begins Sept. 1 with an open house and artist talk from 2 to 5 p.m. featuring ceramic work from Mark Bell, Lynn Duryea, Abby Huntoon, Sequoia Miller, Aby Milner, Sharon Townshend, Lansing Wagner and others. Photography by Adam Diller, Nell Campbell and Anna Edgerly-Moore will also be on view. Weather permitting, refreshments will be served in the garden.

See new sculptural and functional work for your garden, kitchen and walls from Maine artists and selections from the Turtle Gallery collection. Emerging photographers Adam Diller and Anna Edgerly-Moore explore the Maine landscape and interior worlds. Nell Campbell’s work documents life in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and street life in Cuba before many of the recent changes created by relaxed border restrictions.

As part of the gallery’s effort to give back to the community, a portion of profits will be contributed this season to Island Workforce Housing, which is dedicated to creating affordable housing on Deer Isle.

Turtle Gallery resides in an 1876 two-story barn and outdoor sculpture garden located at 61 N. Deer Isle Road in Deer Isle. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For more information, visit turtlegallery.com, or call 207-348-9977.
