Turtle Gallery opened May 30th, 2024 for our 42nd season on Deer Isle. The first open house is on June 7th from 2 to 5pm with artists talks beginning at 2:30. We are open Thursday through Sunday 11am to 5pm through October 7th. Our Group Show features familiar and new to us artists including Lucy Breslin, Conny Hatch, Teri Rippeto, Rebecca Goodale, Arthur Hardigg, Vaino Kola, Treacy Ziegler, Chris Joyce, Michele Ratté, Sandy Wadlington and many more. Our gardens are in bloom and feature new sculpture by Eugene Koch, Patrick Pierce, Rebekah Raye and others.
As in the past, we’ll contribute a portion of our sales to a local non-profit. This year, we have selected Project Launch which supports local students and their families to make a successful transition from high school to meaningful post- secondary learning and opportunities.
Since our beginning in 1982, we have offered a comprehensive selection of fine art, craft, and sculpture by both local and nationally-known makers, many of whom have studied or taught at the nearby Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
The Turtle Gallery resides in an 1876 two-story barn and outdoor sculpture garden located at 61 N. Deer Isle Road on Route 15, just north of the Deer Isle village center. We are open seasonally, Thursday through Sunday 11am-5pm, May 30th through October 7th. For more information and a full schedule, please visit us online at turtlegallery.com or call 207-348-9977. We are on Facebook and Instagram @theturtlegallery.
