Waterfall Arts will host a 12-hour Life Drawing Marathon from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 14 to celebrate the opening of a life drawing exhibition. This immersive event offers artists a unique opportunity to challenge their creative endurance through a series of figure drawing sessions featuring a variety of models and both short and long poses.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to life drawing, this marathon promises to sharpen your skills and inspire your practice.
The marathon is structured to include breaks for lunch and dinner, allowing participants to refresh and recharge while they engage in intensive life drawing. Throughout the day, the Clifford Gallery will also host the opening reception for the exhibition, showcasing works by regular participants of the Waterfall Arts Life Drawing Group. This exhibition will be on view until Sept. 27, offering the community a glimpse into the dynamic and evolving practice of figure drawing.
The Life Drawing Group at Waterfall Arts is the longest-running of its kind in Midcoast Maine, dedicated to both honoring the rich tradition of life drawing and pushing the boundaries of the discipline. Open to all skill levels, the group meets for Short Pose sessions on Tuesday evenings and Long Pose sessions on Saturday mornings throughout the year.
Painters are welcome, with the exception of those using solvents. Please note that pre-registration is required for all participants — no drop-ins will be allowed.
