Dombek Soul Fragments Cafe
“SOUL FRAGMENTS #5,” Lisa Dombek.

“Cosmic Things” at the George Marshall Store Gallery is a juried group exhibition inspired by the myriad ways the universe communicates with each of us. The work explores the signs, symbols, objects and patterns through which we receive and interpret meaning — recurring dreams, animal messengers, coincidences or synchronicities, natural phenomena, totems, touchstones and their translation into personal mythologies, iconographies, and systems of belief.

“This theme resonates with me immediately. It’s not uncommon for me to experience a sense of channeling in my work. We live not merely in the Earthly Plane but an Energetic One, swirling around and through us. These energies (if we are but open to them) move and express themselves physically, speaking via signs and symbols”. My piece, Soul Fragments #5 speaks to a Journey of Spirits/Souls moving through portals in a landscape. The path has been rocky, but a figure stands peering and poised to enter a lighter place.” — Artist Lisa Dombek, Friendship

The show is on view June 14 to July 13, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. June 14.
