Kristen Pobatschnig is an acrylic painter known for her unique style of “Kinetic Pointillism” — a vibrant technique using colorful, mosaic-like dots and forms to evoke motion and energy. Inspired by movement, the cosmos and the natural world, her paintings reflect a lifelong connection to dance and rhythm. In addition to her striking two-dimensional pieces, Pobatschnig also creates kinetic sculptures and wall art.

She has produced public art installations and worked with interior designers, hospitals and public schools to bring art into everyday spaces.

“My goal is to offer a break from reality,” Pobatschnig says. “Combining layers of pointillism and abstraction, I try to capture fleeting light and a sense of calm within mind and space.”

Her work will be on view at Gallery 302 from June 14 through July 15.
