SHAW Mara
Work by Maracole Bijoux.

Shaw Jewelry in Northeast Harbor hosted an opening reception on June 12 to celebrate the launch of three new exhibitions running through July 2. Each artist brings a distinct vision to the space, offering a dynamic and diverse experience for viewers this summer.

Los Angeles-based jewelry artist Maracole Bijoux, originally from Italy, presents “Wear Nothing, Just Jewels,” a collection of one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces crafted using a technique known as cubic right angle weave. The method involves the repetitive construction of sturdy dimensional meshes using 12 Japanese seed beads per unit. Her intricate designs incorporate vintage beads and semi-precious stones, showcasing a unique blend of delicacy and structure. Her work is also currently on view at the Museum of Beadwork in Portland through December 2025.

SHAW Rick
Work by Rick Osann.

Painter Rick Osann brings a theatrical flair to the gallery with “Watercolors From Observation,” which highlights his passion for the interplay of light, shadow and color. With a background in set and lighting design, Osann translates the drama of nature onto paper, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Maine landscape.

In “Transcendance: Fluid — Sensual,” Madi Person explores the movement and life force of animals and humans through expressive works rendered in bold ink and chalk. A recent graduate of College of the Atlantic, Person’s large-scale paintings are both grounded and ethereal, visualizing energy in ways that feel both intimate and expansive.
