Rachel Ingrid Robbins will show the solo exhibition “Late Bloomer” from July 5 to 26 at Merrymeeting Arts Center, with an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. July 5.
This is a retrospective by Maine-based artist Rachel Ingrid Robbins.
A former writer turned visual artist, Robbins works in pastel, alcohol ink, acrylic and gold leaf to create dreamlike narratives that explore growth, transformation, and creative resilience. Her pieces feature celestial imagery, enchanted landscapes, and mythic beings — goddesses, guardians, and quiet animal companions — marking her evolution from storytelling with words to storytelling through imagery.
“Late Bloomer” is both a personal reclamation and a celebration of artistic reinvention.
