Gallerist’s Notes: For nearly two centuries, Maine has drawn artists to its inspirational landscapes and beautiful seascapes. Beginning with Thomas Cole in 1844, the founder of the Hudson River School, artists have been attracted to Maine’s natural grandeur and magnificent wilderness.
We are still living in Eden, the sense of the Divine is in front of us for those who look for it. The world can become a portrait of God and from our vantage point, heavenly views can be captured on canvas. The clarity and definition of Maine’s natural environment inspires artists to describe actual or imaginary visual effects with paint. Artists attempt to focus a degree of distinctiveness within each painting from their personal point of view. Their individualized techniques demonstrate the uniqueness of each artistic creation. We hope that you will visit the gallery, see the exhibition and possibly feed your soul. Hours: Tues – Sun 12 – 5, closed Monday. For more information please call 207 239-1223 or e-mail landinggallery@gmail.com.
