If you’re up in the Midcoast/Downeast area in August, don’t miss the show at Mainely Gallery in Belfast.

The Midcoast/Downeast chapter of the UMVA (Union of Maine Visual Artists) and the Mainely Gallery, 181 Searsport Ave, Belfast, join with the gallery’s artists to present “Hidden Pathways: How To Get There From Here” beginning with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the gallery, with refreshments and live music. Live music is courtesy of The Driveway Band, a sax quartet plus a bass clarinet that brings an eclectic variety of music.

The exhibition runs through Sept. 17.

“This is the second year in a row that the UMVA Midcoast/Downeast Chapter has collaborated with Mainely Gallery in a themed show,” said UMVA member Gail Wartell, who is curating the show along with Stephanie Natale, co-owner of Mainely Gallery. “Last year’s show, ‘Alternative Visions,’ was very successful, with artists being free to explore their own interpretations in amazingly creative ways.  Since its opening, Mainely Gallery has been very supportive of local artists.”
