Arts In The Barn/Cushing Historical Society presents “Elizabeth and Elizabeth: Painters from Parallel Lives” from Aug. 1-3. This exhibition celebrates the extraordinary intersection of two artists and the art that has grown from their meeting — a contrast in styles.
“Six Maine Artists” will be shown Aug. 8-10 featuring the artwork of Linden O’Ryan (watercolor), Sierra Lowe (oil portraits), Mark Malinowski (oil landscapes), Jim Vander Noot (fiber arts), Dennis Jud (photography) and Kate Buehner (acrylics).
“Four Cushing Artists” will be on view Aug. 15-17 featuring Margaret Creighton (acrylics and watercolor), Molly Mugler, (watercolor, oils and mixed media), Susan Gurney (assemblages, sculpture) and Karin Strong (oils). These are friends in art and love living in Cushing.
All openings are on Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. with hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Arts In The Barn program is under the 501c3 statute for the Cushing Historical Society, and these programs benefit the Historical Society’s aims. We are a community supportive organization and have talks and presentations about the history, cultural heritage and persons of interest in our midcoast area.
