Pemaquid Art Gallery will host its annual Midsummer Opening, which is open to the public from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7. The event will feature new work by the artists and honor gallery patrons.
The event marks the midway point in the season, which closes on Oct. 14. Even visitors who have previously been to the gallery will be treated to a fresh look after Aug. 1.
For a modest annual (or lifetime) donation, patrons receive a discount on any purchases and are entered into a drawing for a donated painting by one of the gallery artists. Patrons also have the satisfaction of supporting a premier art venue in the county, and contributing to the outreach projects of the gallery.
Each year, the gallery donates to art programs in area schools and agencies and purchases an annual family pass to the Portland Museum of Art. A one-day pass can be reserved by any person or family by applying at the Skidompha Library.
Pemaquid Art Gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 20 at Lighthouse Park in Bristol. For more information, visit www.pemaquidartgallery.com.
