The Deer Isle Artists Association presents “Spirit Boat,” an exhibition of works evoking artists’ symbolic journeys to explore new realms, from Aug. 12-23.
A range of mediums will be on display, including painting, photography, ceramics, basketry and woodwork.
Featured in this show are artists Marianne Alweis, Leslie Anderson, Don Bardole, Sarah Baskin, Sue Bolton, Cindy Bourque Simonds, Kathy Carlson, Diana Coit, Ray Dinsmore, Jill Finsen, Susan Finsen, Alan Flowers, Emily Johansen, Patrick Keating, Thomas Moore, Woodley Osborne, Teri Rippeto, John Rohman and Linda Smiley.
A reception with the artists will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The next show, the popular “Small Works,” begins on Aug. 26, showcasing works for collecting and gift-giving.
