From MMPA director Denise Froehlich:

It all comes down to love.

At the Maine Museum of Photographic Arts, we are spending this month pondering what it means to dedicate yourself to something you love. It’s in our mission, in the love of the creative process, the love of home, and a deep appreciation for our community. It’s the “why” behind everything we do.

We are so close to realizing a new vision for MMPA. To date, we have raised an incredible $550,000 toward our transition. Now, we are entering the final stretch. We need to raise the remaining $100,000 to cover the renovation costs required to officially open the doors of our new home.

These funds are the final bridge to our future. They will allow us to:

• Complete the renovations necessary to welcome the public.

• Launch new programming and timely exhibitions

• Secure Maine’s legacy of extraordinary photographic arts.

For 16 years, your support has been the only thing that has kept us in business. Mainers always show up for what they believe in. Please help us wrap up this pledge drive gracefully so we can continue to serve you and the Maine photographic community for years to come.

The Maine Museum of Photographic Arts is at 387 Commercial St., Suite E, Portland. See www.mainemuseumofphotographicarts.org for more information.
