Art Space Gallery in Rockland is featuring three artists in its front room for June: painter Sandi Lemmerman, woodworker Roger Barry and painter Ann Rhinehardt. The gallery will participate in Rockland’s First Friday Art Walk today, June 5, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Lemmerman paints colorful, expressive landscapes alive with energy and atmosphere. Barry creates wooden reliquaries that evoke history, mystery and reverence. Rhinehardt works in oil and cold wax, building dense, tactile surfaces layered with the textures and moods of the land. “Working with oil and cold wax allows me to act as both a builder and an excavator,” Rhinehardt said. “I construct dense, tactile surfaces that mirror the rugged complexity of the earth — its grit, its ancient strata, and its weathered resilience.”
In other member news, paintings by Linda Clowes Murray are on display through June at Eastern Tire, 70 Rockville St., Rockport, viewable during weekday office hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gallery hours in June are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Art Space Gallery is at 405 Main St., Rockland. See artspacemaine.com for details.
